Project Theli, led by OCS Foundation and EFC, is an inspiring initiative inspired by Shri Rajen Parikh, aimed at minimizing the use of polythene bags in our daily lives. It recognizes the detrimental impact of plastic bags on the environment and seeks to address this issue through a systematic approach. The project was initiated in December 2015 and continues to this day, with the objective of completely eliminating the use of polythene bags. To achieve this goal, Project थैली focuses on raising awareness and promoting sustainable alternatives. More than just a campaign, it aims to bring about a signicant shift in people’s behavior and shopping practices. One of the key achievements of Project Theli is the distribution of over 1 lakh cloth bags (Thelis) as an eco-friendly alternative to polythene bags. This not only helps in reducing plastic waste but also generates employment opportunities.

How Can You Help?

  1. Encourage others to minimize or avoid the use of polythene
  2. Donate your waste fabric, such as old clothes, bed sheets, or

  4. Support bag production by contributing Rs 25 per bag (min quantity: 1000 bags).
  5. Inspire others to reject plastics and opt for the use of cloth bags (thelis).
